What Sets Us Apart

While most music camps focus on large-group performances or rigid songwriting structures, Center Stage offers a boutique, tech-forward experience. We prioritize individual attention, limiting each session to just 6-10 students to ensure the quality of every project is exceptionally high. Your rising star will develop a unique sonic voice and visual identity while gaining a professional understanding of what makes a great song.

By working one-on-one with established New York songwriters and producers, campers record in a world-class studio and design their own custom merchandise and album artwork.

This camp is perfect for kids ages 11-13 who have shown an interest in songwriting or music creation. No expert-level skills are needed, though some basic musical experience is required to help them get the most out of their week.

A Week At Center Stage

  • Day 1: Concept and Collaboration

The camp opens with music-focused icebreakers and games to build group rapport. We then move into Songwriting 101, where campers learn the fundamentals of structure and melody. By the end of the day, every artist will have defined their song’s core theme and drafted their initial lyric ideas.

  • Day 2: Composition & Refinement

The focus shifts to structured songwriting through one-on-one sessions aimed at polishing lyrics and exploring melodic possibilities. Campers will participate in group feedback rounds to sharpen their ideas, ensuring everyone finishes the day with a complete working draft of their song.

  • Day 3: The Mentor Sessions

Campers connect with the industry’s top songwriters, producers, and artists for an immersive Mogul Day. These mentors provide firsthand insight into the professional music scene through guest lectures and personalized, one-on-one sessions. By the end of the day, students will apply this expert feedback to finalize a performance-ready version of their song.

  • Day 4: Visual Identity & Branding

Campers transition from audio to visual as they develop their official artist identity. During this session, they will design custom merchandise and digital cover art, exploring the colors and aesthetics that align with their creative vision. This provides a hands-on introduction to branding and how visual representation complements their music.

  • Day 5: The Studio Experience

The camp concludes with a field trip to Thump Recording Studio, where students track their final vocals in a professional environment. Campers will have the opportunity to explore the facility and experiment with high-end studio gear, gaining firsthand experience in the recording process.

The day ends with a playback session in the control room, where students and their families—who are encouraged to attend—can hear the finished tracks on state-of-the-art monitors. Every camper will head home with their fully produced song, custom album artwork, branded merchandise, and the experience of a professional recording artist.
